Political Action

Purpose:

Ensures that HRC’s local, state and federal political work is incorporated into all aspects of the steering committee’s programming and the local Greater Cincinnati Community.

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinate HRC’s involvement in priority political campaigns as directed by national HRC field staff and in priority diversity and inclusion programs such as Transgender Day of Remembrance and MLK Day of Service as directed by national HRC diversity and inclusion program staff
• LGBTQ political groups, community-based organizations led by people of color and transgender people, civil rights organizations, churches, youth groups and youth-serving organizations, business, media, and labor organizers
• Lobby members of Congress, as well as state and local lawmakers, on issues of importance to the LGBTQ community and recruit other volunteers to lobby.
